How Do I Contact You?

If you want to review or adjust your subtitles before rendering the final video, you can do that in the built-in editor. Step 1: Open the built-in editor Go to My Videos Once subtitle generation is complete, click Edit Subtitles on your video The editor opens with your video and subtitles already loaded Tip: You can also click Import .srt inside the editor to load your own file, or Download .srt to save the subtitle file to your computer. Step 2: Edit and burn into video Edit the subtitle text or timing directly in the editor Click Save progress at any time to keep your changes When the subtitles are ready, click Burn into video We will render a new version with burned-in subtitles for you You will be redirected to My Videos once the process starts, where you can track progress. You get two free re-renders per video. SRT formatting If you edit the raw SRT file outside the browser editor, the file needs to stay correctly formatted for playback to work. Edit Subtitles in Your Account

For full details on when to use burned-in subtitles and how the tool works, see Burn Subtitles Into Video. Option 1: Generate subtitles first, then burn them into the video Upload your video. Our AI generates subtitles and gives you both an SRT file and a video with burned-in subtitles. Edit if needed. Open the SRT file in our free SRT editor or in any text editor. Save your changes. Upload the updated file. Go to My Videos and upload the updated SRT file. We will render a revised version with burned-in subtitles at no extra charge. Option 2: Use your own SRT file If you already have a subtitle file, upload your video together with the SRT file and we will create a video with burned-in subtitles for you. You can upload up to three SRT files per video, and we will produce three separate versions with burned-in subtitles. This is useful for multilingual content.

How Do I Generate AI Subtitles?

If you want to use the service but do not have access to iDEAL or a credit card, the best next step is to contact us. Submit a ticket and explain your situation. What to include To help us respond efficiently, include: the payment method you do have access to whether this is a one-time order or something ongoing any deadline or project constraint that matters Important note Alternative arrangements are not guaranteed in every case, but we can review what is possible.

What If I Don't Have iDEAL or a Credit Card?

Reading speed optimization is an optional feature that automatically shortens subtitle text to match a comfortable reading pace. It is available when you generate subtitles on Subtitling.net. For background on reading speed standards and what CPS means, see Subtitle Reading Speed. What It Does When you enable reading speed optimization, our tool trims subtitle text before rendering your video. If a subtitle would take longer to read than the time it is on screen, the tool shortens it. You still get a readable version of what was said, but the text fits the display time. The left image shows full-text subtitles that match the complete transcript. The right shows the same content after optimization: shorter lines, same meaning. See It in Action Your browser does not support the video tag. Note: These subtitles were automatically generated and have not been edited by a human. When It Is Most Useful Reading speed optimization is particularly effective for translated subtitles. Translated text is often longer than the original speech and benefits most from condensing. In same-language subtitles, some viewers notice the difference; in translated subtitles, slight variations are natural and not distracting.

Special Requests

In rare cases, AI-generated subtitles may contain text that is unusual, out of context, or simply wrong. Why does this happen? This can happen when the system produces text that does not match what was actually said in the audio. Sometimes the result looks random. Sometimes it may insert a name, phrase, or line that does not belong in the video at all. What is an AI hallucination? This type of error is commonly called an AI hallucination. It means the model has generated output that sounds plausible in form, but is not grounded in the actual source audio. These errors are a known limitation of AI systems. They are uncommon, but they can occur. What should I do if I see this? If you notice strange or nonsensical subtitle text: check the line in the editor correct it manually if the fix is simple submit a ticket if you want us to review the issue If this happens in your subtitles, submit a ticket and we can take a look. Strange Subtitle Text

We currently support the following video formats: MP4 — universal, works everywhere MOV — standard export format from iPhone, Final Cut Pro, and DaVinci Resolve MKV — common format for downloaded and archival video content WebM — open format used by Chrome, Firefox, and YouTube downloads If your video is in a different format (AVI, WMV, FLV, etc.), convert it to MP4 before uploading. How to convert A simple way to do this is with CloudConvert . The basic workflow: Upload your source video Choose MP4 as the output format Start the conversion Download the converted file Upload it to Subtitling.net If you prefer a different tool, search for convert video to MP4 and choose a service that fits your workflow. Important note Converting a video does not improve its quality. The converted file can only be as good as the original source file.

Supported Video Formats

We provide a video with burned-in subtitles as part of the standard workflow. If you want to watch the video with a separate SRT file instead, VLC Media Player is a practical option. Automatic subtitle loading in VLC If the video file and the SRT file have the same name and are saved in the same folder, VLC will usually load the subtitles automatically when the video starts. Example: Manually loading subtitles in VLC If the files do not have the same name, or are stored in different locations, you can load the subtitles manually. Step-by-step Open VLC Media Player and start your video In the top menu, click Subtitle Select Add Subtitle File Browse to your .srt file Select it and continue playback The subtitles should now appear on the video.
