1. Acknowledgment of the disclaimer

By using our services you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted our disclaimer. Your use of the services is subject to the conditions and limitations set out there, including the potential for errors, unusual outcomes, and the inclusion of copyrighted material in AI-generated subtitles.

2. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using the services you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms. If you do not agree to them, you may not use the services.

3. Your responsibilities

Your account

Some features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your account details confidential and for everything that happens under your account. We never see your password.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the services for any unlawful purpose, or in any way that could harm the website, its users or third parties. That includes uploading content that is defamatory, obscene, infringing or otherwise objectionable.

4. Intellectual property

Your content

You keep all rights to the video content you upload. By using the services you grant Subtitling.net a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to generate subtitles from that content, for the purpose of providing the services.

The subtitles

Subtitles generated by the services are provided as they are, and Subtitling.net makes no claim of ownership or copyright over them.

Copyright

The owner of the video content keeps all copyright and related rights. You are responsible for having the rights you need to upload the content and use our services.

5. Privacy

Our privacy page explains what we collect, who processes it and how long we keep it. By using the services you consent to the collection and use of your information as described there.

6. Payment

Free and paid services

Subtitling.net may offer both free and paid services. If you use paid services, you agree to the pricing and payment terms shown at the time of purchase.

Refunds

Refunds are covered by the refund policy in the next section.

7. Refund policy

This section sets out the conditions under which refunds are given for purchases made on subtitling.net.

It applies only to products and services bought directly from us. For anything provided by a third party, their own refund policy applies, and they are the ones to contact.

7.1 General

• Refunds are available for certain types of purchase, under the conditions below.
• To request one, submit a ticket with your order details and the reason for the request.

7.2 When a refund applies

• Service issues: if a technical problem prevents you from using the service as intended, contact us within 7 days of your purchase. We will work to resolve it, and may offer a refund if it cannot be fixed.
• Mistaken purchases: contact us within 24 hours of the transaction. These are considered case by case.
• Subscriptions: you can cancel at any time. Unused parts of the current billing period are not refunded, and your service stays active until the end of that period.
• Unused credit: if you do not want to use your remaining balance, we will refund it.

7.3 When it does not

• Completed services: once subtitles have been generated and delivered, a refund is not usually given. If you are unhappy with the result, contact us and we will work on it with you.
• Purchases made during a promotion or sale are not refundable.

7.4 How a refund is processed

• If your request is approved we will tell you by message or email.
• Approved refunds are processed within 7 business days, to your original payment method.
• Partial refunds are possible, depending on the circumstances and how much of the service was used.

8. Limitation of liability

No warranties

The services are provided as they are and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the services will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Subtitling.net will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the services.

9. Disputes

Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the EU.

Arbitration

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or the services will be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of the EBU, rather than in court.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the services at any time, without notice, for conduct we believe violates these terms or is harmful to other users, or for any other reason.

11. Changes to these terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Changes are posted on this page and take effect when posted. Continuing to use the services after that constitutes acceptance of them.
