How to read this page

We describe these providers by what they do rather than by name. Which supplier we use for a given step is a commercial matter. It also changes as the market does.

If you need to know which supplier handles a given step, write to privacy@subtitling.net and we will tell you.

Working on our instructions

These providers work under contract and only on our instructions. None of them may use anything of yours for their own purposes.

Cloud infrastructure, in Paris

Your account, your uploaded media, and the subtitles made from it.

Speech to text, in the United States

The audio of your uploaded media.

Text processing, in the United States

Subtitle text.

Machine translation, in the European Union

Subtitle text, only when you ask for a translation.

Website delivery and security, worldwide

The requests your browser makes to this site.

Email forwarding, in the European Union

Messages you send to our own addresses.

Deciding for themselves

These two do not work on our instructions. They decide for themselves how they handle your data, and their own privacy statements apply.

Payments

Your card details. They go straight to the provider and never reach us.

Signing in with an external account

Your email address and name. Only if you choose this instead of a password.

Leaving the European Economic Area

Some of this processing takes place in the United States. Everything else stays in the European Union.

Those transfers rely on the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission. Write to privacy@subtitling.net for a copy.
